Glossary
The words Slotwise uses, and what each one means in the calendar.
Capacity
- Man-day (MD)
- One person's full working day: the unit capacity is counted in.
- Hours per MD
- How long a working day is in your organization, 8 hours by default. An admin sets it, and it converts MD to hours.
- Working day
- Monday to Friday. Each one adds 1 MD of capacity unless a status takes time off.
- Worked weekend
- A Saturday or Sunday someone sets to a working status. It then counts like a working day.
- Capacity
- The MD or hours a person or team has in a month or week: working days, less time off, plus worked weekends. Shown against the full capacity of every working day.
- Capacity unit
- Whether you read capacity in MD or hours, everywhere including the CSV export. Each person picks their own.
- Quarter-day
- The smallest step of time off: 0.25 MD. Totals keep this precision, so nothing is rounded away.
Calendar
- Status
- What a day is, shown as a short code such as A, NA or PH, with a label, a color and how much time off it takes. Admins define them for the organization.
- Time off
- How much of a working day a status takes away: none, a quarter, half, three quarters or the whole day.
- Default status
- What an empty day shows and counts as: one status for working days (Available at first) and one for weekends.
- Blocked
- Working, but not on project work: at a conference, offsite or workshop. Counts as a whole day of time off.
- Note
- A line of text on a day. A private note is seen only by admins and the person it belongs to.
- Period
- What the calendar shows: a month, or a week from Monday to Sunday.
- Away today
- People with less than a full MD today, from their status or the default.
People
- Organization
- The group that shares one calendar and one set of statuses. You can belong to several, with a separate profile in each.
- Team
- A group of people inside an organization, such as Design or Development. The calendar groups rows by team.
- Member
- A person in an organization. Members see everyone's days and change their own.
- Admin
- A member who can change anyone's days, invite people, and edit statuses and settings.
- Owner
- The one admin who can also delete the organization or transfer ownership. Every organization has exactly one.
- Invitation
- An email an admin sends to add someone. They join with the link in it; nobody sets a password.
Integrations
- Slack post
- Once a week, every Monday at 08:00 in the organization's time zone unless an admin picks another day and time, Slotwise posts to one Slack channel who's away next week, on which days, and when they're back. Admins choose which statuses are listed.
- Monthly reminder
- A Slack post on the first working day of each month asking everyone to update their availability.
- Google Calendar sync
- Busy events of half a day or more become time off in Slotwise, and time off set in Slotwise shows up in the person's Google Calendar.
- Netcore sync
- Each month, a person's capacity in hours, and a target of a full MD on every working day, go to their Netcore account, where they plan their income. One Netcore account takes hours from one organization.
Plans
- Starter
- The free plan: up to 10 people, one admin (the owner) and one organization of your own.
- Pro
- The paid plan, €39.99 a month: unlimited people and admins, more than one organization of your own, Slack, Google Calendar and Netcore, custom statuses, CSV export, custom theme colors and offline mode. It renews every month until you cancel and covers every organization the person paying owns.
- Trial
- Pro's first 7 days, once per account, with no card needed. Without a card by its end, Pro ends and nothing is charged.
- On hold
- What goes past Starter's limits when Pro ends. Nothing is deleted: organizations after the first, and people after the first 10, wait until the owner upgrades.
